RICHTER7

Media Training

Our client was about to meet with top business publications, such as Forbes, The Wall Street Journal and Fortune Small Business. So, Richter7 took the organization’s top executives through a rigorous training session. The goal was to fine-tune key message, address difficult questions and provide insights to how reporters think.

These business leaders needed to know what makes news, things to do and not do in an interview, and how to polish their ability to answer tough questions.

We also put participants through intense role-play scenarios, giving them an opportunity to practice what they’d been taught. Role-plays were reviewed and critiqued strengths and weaknesses were addressed.

Our training session gave these administrators the practical skills they soon applied in newsroom meetings with New York reporters.

How would your key people respond if they suddenly found themselves with lights in their eyes, microphones thrust in their face, and reporters aggressively pressing them for statements that could ultimately prove embarrassing or controversial? Would they know how to handle themselves?

Richter7 offers a one-day workshop that teaches your people what reporters are looking for and how to respond to aggressive questioning. We take them inside the mind of a reporter and help them see the world through the reporters eyes — we run them through role playing simulations and provide personal coaching on their performance.

This is what some of our clients have said about our media training:

“I have hired Richter7 to media train our executives many times and have been impressed with each session. They help us get inside a reporter’s head so we can better articulate our key messages and navigate around sticky situations. In my mind, Richter7 offers the best media training I’ve seen.”

“Richter7 has prepared my team for interviews with reporters in New York and Los Angeles. Their training was extremely valuable because it helped us refine messages and prepare against virtually any question a reporter at that level would throw at us.”

“The media training I went through with Richter7 was more rigorous than anything I ever experienced with actual reporters – and I appreciated it! They know how to prepare spokespeople for even the most intense interviews.”
